The Woodhouse Partnership Ltd (TWPL) is a world-leading authority on asset management, risk management, operational excellence, life-cycle costing, risk and performance optimization. TWPL aspires to be your ‘trusted advisors’ with long-term relationships and practical, proven successes. It was formed in 1995 by a team of former senior managers of blue chip organisations including Shell, UK Atomic Energy Authority, the Royal Air Force, Philips and Kvaerner Engineering.
TWPL operates on a global basis with its head office based near Newbury, Berkshire, UK. We have regional offices in North America and Latin America. We also have a network of associates and regional support offices around the world, so wherever you are based, we can provide personal support and advice.
WHAT WE DO
For more than 20 years, TWPL has been committed to working with organisations across different industry sectors in over 25 countries. And we have found that cross-pollination of ideas and experiences between industries is often more valuable than the repeated benchmarking and specialities that are found within groups of similar organisations. This gives TWPL a special perspective – we can select and combine leading-edge ideas and practical experiences from a wide range of sources and innovative thinking.
TWPL was involved in the project management of the DTi/European MACRO Project, The SALVO Project, chairing the production of the BSi/IAM PAS 55 standard for asset management as well as the development of the ISO 55000 family of standards and the first IAM Competences Framework.
John Woodhouse, (pictured left) TWPL’s Managing Director, Fellow and Chair of the Panel of Experts for The Institute of Asset Management (The IAM) has recently authored a new guidance document, Developing and Maintaining a Strategic Asset Management Plan, which takes you step-by-step through creating and using a SAMP in your own organisation.
Peter Jay, (pictured right) TWPL Principal Consultant and Fellow of the IAM, recently led the work to produce the Asset Management System Application Guide. The purpose of the guide is set out a practical and pragmatic approach that will help organisations on the asset management journey, to develop and put in place an asset management system that will not only achieve formal conformance with ISO 55001, but will enable and embed good practice as described in The IAM’s ‘Asset Management – an anatomy’ and supporting subject specific guidelines.
We pride ourselves on our ability to coach, mentor and transfer our experience to build competency and confidence. So whatever level you are at or whether you are an individual or an organisation, TWPL provides the full range of asset management training, consulting and tools and techniques to suit you. These include introductory briefings, baseline training and education, online learning, tools: criticality, risk and prioritization, ISO 55001 system design, implementation and certification, expert facilitation of business/culture change, goals and roadmapping beyond ISO 55000.

Example of the organisations we assist
Some of our clients have hundreds of sites around the world, so we are very familiar with the cultural diversities, change management and long-distance communication challenges, involved in supporting multi-national organisations.
TWPL is a source of pragmatic advice, thanks to a deep understanding of the total picture of asset management – each consultant has at least 20 years’ front line operational and management experience.

“The integrated TWPL approach to people, processes and tools is really building a robust asset management environment in ISA CTEEP and helping us to act as a team instead of “silos”. And, just 12 months into the 3-year roadmap, this is already yielding evident culture change as well as multi-million dollar benefits.”
Renato Bossolan, Programme Manager, CTEEP Asset Management, Brazil
“It can be no coincidence that projects facilitated by TWPL have won both of the two IAM Achievement Awards, as judged by a panel of international experts.”
David McKeown, CEO, Institute of Asset Management 2015
