Most engineering, maintenance and operating decisions involve deliberate expenditure in order to achieve some hoped-for reliability, performance or other benefit. We may know the costs involved, but it is often difficult to quantify the potential impact of reduced risks, improved efficiency or safety, or longer equipment life. Not only are the benefits difficult to quantify, but the objectives often conflict with each other. Finding the optimal strategy is therefore difficult.

The European collaboration project “MACRO”, has developed a structured set of procedures to ensure that the right questions are asked, and sophisticated “what if?” analysis tools to calculate the optimum combinations of equipment reliability, performance, lifespan and cost.

The MACRO Decision Navigator Assistant will guide you through the decision making process - press 'Start' to begin.
